The Cricut Expression

Here I am sitting on my couch, watching an infomercial for this item:

Behold, the Cricut Expression (Pronounced "Cricket" Expression)

This infomercial has served its purpose, because I know feel that I can not live without this machine.

This electronic cutting machine uses a cartridge-based system (no computer required) for cutting thousands of beautiful letters, shapes, or phrases in a variety of sizes and styles with just the touch of a button.

"With the Cricut Expression, You will have more fun than you ever thought possible"

"Anyone can do it"

"You'll be creating fabulous and professional looking projects in no time!"

"With the Cricut Expression, there is no limit to your creativity."

"Vinyl lettering is now fabulous affordable and easy!"

(from CatchABug)
"You can even etch glass and make beautiful anniversary gifts and label your glass cookware!"

(All other images from Cricut, Cricut Expression)

I wonder if Kyle can find one for me on Craigslist..... ;-)

Lessons and Carols

This has been playing in my head all morning.... finally found it on Youtube:

(words below)

Climb to the top of the highest mountain, Joyous tidings proclaim to the world, Lift up your voice, Shout the good news: Behold, your Lord comes to you.
He will feed his flock like a shepherd, He will carry the lambs in His arms, He will ever keep them safe from harm. Behold, your Lord comes to you.
He who made the stars in the heaven, He who fashioned the earth and the sea, From time eternal he was God, the Alpha and Omega, He. Behold, your Lord!
He will come in pow'r and glory, He will rule with mercy and truth, Hope of all the nations, Light of the world, Light of all the world.
He will love the little children. He will hold them in his arms. Love him and trust him as a little child, Behold your Lord comes to you. Love him as a child, as a child.

Days of the Week

So does anybody else recall the Mother Goose Poem regarding the day of the week on which children are born?

It goes like this:

Monday's child is fair of face,
Tuesday's child is full of grace,
Wednesday's child is full of woe,
Thursday's child has far to go,
Friday's child is loving and giving,
Saturday's child works hard for a living,
But the child that is born on the
Sabbath Day is blythe and bonny and good and gay.

In my thrift store story books, I found the poem along with illustrations. I thought I'd scan these in and see if I could make a nice plaque out of the illustration and rhyme for each day.

Thanks to this lovely site, http://www.bethanyroberts.com/MondaysChildIsFairofFace.htm --You can check out which day you were born!

I found out that I'm Thursday's child, so in honor of all Thursday's children --here's the artwork:

My sweet husband was a child born on the Sabbath Day... of course, because he's such a joy.

Much like this little girl:

Kyle's dad, who was over at my house helping me hang curtains.. as I was working on this post is Friday's child (of course!)

These illustrations are great for lots of different artwork ideas.

Fun!!

Question: On what day of the week were you born, and do you feel that you fit the description?

The Time Travelers Wife

It took me forever to get my hands on a copy of this book.
My goal: To read it before the movie comes out.
Deadline: August 14 before lunch
Pages down: 234
Pages to go: 301

Edit:
I met my goal! It was amazing.. Lori & I saw the 7:45pm showing on opening night. My thoughts: The movie cut out everything it needed to cut out and kept all the good parts. It followed the book almost perfectly! Loved it

Marianne & Jimmy had it going on BIG TIME.

They were something special.

The JoBros

(source)

I love finding opportunities to act like I'm 13. It keeps me sane. This is why I crush on the Jonas Brothers and listen to their cd on my way to OT School in the mornings.

This morning, as I was listening intently to the lyrics... I thought, you know those JoBros are really something! Here's some of their profound lyrics:

Everybody gets the itch, everybody hates that.
Everybody needs a little poison ivy.
Give me some poison, baby! Uh!

Hot.
